Why is Cold Brew more expensive?
Well, it’s because the process of making cold brew coffee takes a lot more time than regular iced coffee. It also requires special equipment and ingredients to make it taste great. But we think that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. That’s why we created the Momentum Coffee line of cold brew coffees! They are made with all-natural ingredients and no preservatives or artificial flavors added in order for them to be as fresh as possible when they get into your hands! We think they are worth every penny – but don't take our word for it - try some out today!
What is Cold Brew?
So, what is cold brew? Well, the definition we like to use goes as follows – iced coffee made with coarsely ground beans soaked in water for a very long time- usually over 12 hours! Our cold brew is brewed for at least 16 hours for the best possible taste. This process results in a coffee concentrate that is less acidic and higher in caffeine than hot brewed coffee.
And what equipment is used? Well, there are many options out there – from the simple French Press to larger cold brewers with filters made specifically for making cold brews- all of which come at different price points! Some people also use regular mason jars or other heat proof containers with fine mesh filters or cheesecloth.
And the ingredients you need to make cold brew? Well, those are pretty simple as well – coarsely ground coffee and water! That’s it! Some people like to add sugar (we don't recommend that). We find that our Momentum Coffee Cold Brew is delicious enough on its own!
How Cold Brew is made?
It’s pretty simple – just follow these steps:
Add coarsely ground coffee to water. Give it a little stir and let the mixture sit for at least 12 hours or more at room temperature. If it's hot, we suggest placing your container in the fridge.
Once the time has passed, filter your cold brew through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth and press down to extract all coffee grounds. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks!

What Makes Momentum Cold Brew so Good?
We have been told we have one of the best Cold Brews in the city. We think it is because we start with quality ingredients and make them in small batches.
Momentum Cold Brew Ingredients
Quality Momentum Coffee Beans
Brewing Cold Brew Coffee requires several different components to achieve the perfect cup. Quality beans like Momentum Beans and filtered water are the two required ingredients that can be used when brewing cold brew coffee. The quality beans that you choose for your cold brew will determine the quality of taste and flavor. Momentum Beans offers quality beans to be used in brewing a variety of different types of coffee beverages such as cold brew, iced coffees, espresso drinks and more! The filtered water used in the brewing process is essential to ensuring that your cold brew tastes great.
Momentum Cold is made in Small Batches
Making cold brew in small batches is a great idea for several reasons. First, it's more cost effective to make cold brew at home or in a roastery and second, you're less likely to accidentally let the water steep too long and end up with an overly-bitter cup of coffee (and we all know that no one wants that). The best part about cold brew is that since it's made with cold water, the caffeine content in cold brew coffee is much higher than traditional hot brewed iced coffees. Plus the small batch process of making cold brew allows for more control over the taste and quality of your cup. The small batches are less expensive to produce because there's no need for big industrial machines or equipment that can drive up costs.
Why Cold Brew Coffee?
There are many reasons why you should try cold brew coffee – first of all, because it tastes good! Second of all, because it's better for you than regular iced coffee that has been brewed using hot water.
Those delicious reasons are:
- because it is healthier for you than regular iced coffee, which uses hot water to brew. Instead of using water that can be up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, cold brew is brewed with room temperature or colder water over 12 hours. Doing so extracts far fewer acids and less caffeine, making it a healthier choice.
